Dual or Secondary Contained Pipe Systems (PE, PP)
for the transfer of aggressive and hazardous liquids such as Brine & Petrol. |
This “pipe in pipe” system comprises an outer containment pipe and an inner carrier pipe conveying the fluid. The inner pipe is usually located concentric to the outer pipe by means of spacers or “spiders” and the system is generally used in applications to give greater protection and peace of mind when transporting aggressive or hazardous liquids. The annulus or void between the two pipes can be monitored and used to detect any leakage from the inner carrier pipe. There are various types of leak monitoring and detection equipment available dependant on the usage, medium and application but all systems basically provide the user with an early warning system for remedial action against a potential hazard.
ESHL can fabricate this pipe at their facility in Retford along with the fabricated fittings with the advantage to be able to respond quickly to both clients and site requirements.
Most plastic systems can be utilised such as PE, PP, PVDF, UPVC & ABS (depending on the application)

Contract Scope:
Replacement of an existing overland steel pipe system conveying fuel oil from a storage tank to a fill point using a Dual Contained PE pipe system.
Included within our scope were the Supply, Fabrication, Installation, and Testing of this Dual Contained PE pipe system. The pipe and fittings including Tees and Bends were all pre-fabricated at our workshop in Retford prior to delivery to site.
